Proton to Exert Dominance on Home Ground

PROTON’s newly-charged Satria Neo S2000s aims for a dominating performance at the Malaysian Rally which starts tomorrow (Friday, 1 April 2011). Drivers Alister McRae and Chris Atkinson will be at the helm of PROTON’s two-car assault which is also the opening round of the 2011 Asia Pacific Rally Championship (APRC). Day 1 of the rally begins with a short 2.5km sprint on a Special SS for spectators at the Angsana Shopping Complex in Tampoi, Johor Baru. 145bhp Proton Satria Neo R3 Lotus Racing Launched!

Proton revealed a green-tinted surprise at Pavilion KL yesterday – a super special version of their Neo CPS – the Proton Satria Neo R3 Lotus Racing. Weighing in at a scant 1150kg, this baby is packed with yummy equipment and go-fast performance bits. Titanium headers, full exhaust system and other engine tweaks contributes to a delicious 145bhp @ 6,000rpm, 168NM of torque @ 5,000rpm from its 1.6litre S4PH CAMPRO CPS lump, a substantial 25bhp and 18NM up from a stock CPS. 0-100 km/h is done in 9.2 seconds and top speed is 205 km/h.

AFOS 2008 Free Tickets

The region’s biggest motorsport event is back and is bigger than ever! The Asian Festival of Speed will this year involve no less than 100 race cars, competing in 6 highly charged race series in one power packed weekend.

AFOS comprises of the FIA-Sanctioned Formula V6 Asia Series, Asian Touring Car Series, Formula BMW Pacific, Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, and this year the event will be joined by three new series, the Asian Touring Car Super 1500Max Challenge, the Formula Asia 2.0 and the Asia Supercar Challenge.

The races offer spectators a chance to witness a great blend of single-seater action, bumper to bumper tin-top racing and the toughest exotic car battles all in one venue. Spectators will also see the rising stars of Asian Motorsport tackle leading drivers and Teams from all around the globe.
