hello to all r3 owners.. i need to get some advise here.. i m interested with a SR3 and test drive one recently.. it is SR3#137.. i wanna know whether this is an original and existing SR3 or not since it is not in ur 150 SR3 list… i saw the grant from the dealer n it says proton satria gti instead of Proton Satria R3 and he claims tat all SR3′s grant is stated that way.. is this true? and the original colour in the grant is stated as “kelabu” instead of wat i have thought of as “hitam”.. please kindly reply me because i really need help from u guys.. i dun wan to get cheated.. thank you
Hey JJ, not all SR3s are registered with the R3gister as some prefer to remain anonymous. Things you can check are the serial number in the engine bay, red seat belts, carbon fibre spoiler, SR3 seats, rims which are pretty exclusive to a SR3. The grant, unfortunately, does state Proton Satria GTI. whether this was a mistake/error of R3 or Proton, we don’t know. But all SR3s are ‘Satria GTI’ on paper. So nothing to fear there.
If you have any questions, you can post in the forum, which is a good resource for all things R3. If in doubt, get the seller to bring the car to RACE in Shah Alam for a look.
and the SR3 i saw has no CF spoiler and original avanti SR3 rims which normally appear in an SR3.. it has other type of rims which the dealer claims tat it is original SR3 rims.. does original SR3 has other type of rims?? the dealer said the pervious owner sold the car to the dealer without a CF spoiler since it got stolen already..
Original rims are Avanti 5-spokes. Carbon fibre spoiler theft is common, so no surprise if there isn’t one on the car. There are no other rim options for SR3. They have the same rims.
ok.. i see.. thanks for ur reply vernon.. i felt much relief upon receiving ur help.. anyways, wat colour does SR3 grant states? the one i saw is ”kelabu” which i find it quite doubtful.. is this true? the car has been repainted to a dark brownish colour which is similar to black.. the dealer claims tat the owner repainted so tat ppl wont steal his car since they may think tat it is not an ori SR3.. Actual color is Incognito Black, but grant can state ranging from kelabu to hitam. Quite alright. There is a slight tinge of brown with the Incognito.
