Look on the bright side, it’s much easier to spot a stolen SR3 spoiler than a GTi one. The fact that ours are rare and easily spotted means smarter thieves will think twice about snatching it.
As our anonymous poster said, other than this blog, no one has really taken action. At the very least, they should be reported to police of having suspected stolen items.
My excuse for not doing so? I’m just plain darn lazy ahahaha. Plus my cf spoiler is 200% safe…

As much as R3 would like to help these unfortunate owners, it is beyond our jurisdiction as we are not owners of the cars.
We’ve advise owners to be exremely diligent and cautious when parking their vehicles and we’ve advised them to make police report immediately.
We are always open to any ideas or suggestions that you might have to help curb this crime.
But for the time being I would urge those who see the spoilers on the road take down their number plates and make a police report immediately and for an official investigation. Charge these vehicle for possesing stolen goods.
If the police require further information, by all means forward them to use and we will give our fullest to help assist in the investigation and hopefully recover these much cherished spoilers.

If the police cannot do anything about spoiler thieves, I would recommend taking it into our own hands and ripping them off ourselves. Since the police can’t and won’t do anything, we can get away with stealing them back without legal repercussions. If the law can’t protect what’s rightfully hours, and thieves get away scot-free, then, my friends it is time to act.
If we can do it discreetly then I don’t see why we can’t. Just don’t get caught.
Either that, or we set-up a fund and hire pros to do it. Both ways, we get off cleanly, but we get back what is ours.

I won’t rip em off. Will probably set off alarms and what not.
But I don’t mind giving em a dose of flourescant pink spray.

well… lets see… don’t all R3 spoliers have serial numbers? if you see one, go over and check it, if its a known to be stolen one, call the police immediately and say you saw someone with stolen property. That’s all…
July 21st, 2006 at 12:09 pm
we must do something!!otherwise all the sr3 running without the original spoiler!!we have proof, the carbon fiber spoiler with r3 emblem is only belong to sr3..so if the police saw any satria use this spoiler, they should ripped.unfortunately the police is useless

WKN 4747…belongs to my friend…its a gti evo 3…leaves somewhere near sg buloh i think…i bet he buys it from proton edar…damn rich..
July 29th, 2006 at 1:30 am
We can’t accuse everyone blatantly of stealing and selling stolen items, but in the case of R3 CF spoilers, a big majority ARE stolen. They are not sold in any stores, only comes with the 150 Satria R3s on the road. So to say that they’ve bought it from Proton Edar is pure BS.
We need to educate people to NOT buy these spoilers and support the thieves.
July 29th, 2006 at 3:41 pm
Yup…I think so too Mr Vernes…I agree with u..CF spoilers aren’t available at PROTON…People trying to say that they bought it at Proton Edar is crap…Beggining to doubt that WKN 4747..
Mine was stolen yesterday…
For those SGTI @ Satria using our SR3 CF spoilers, better watch out before u get the punishment u deserve…

August 22nd, 2006 at 11:58 pm
Its also R3’s fault to make the spoilers limited. U know some Malaysian’s are bloody burglars and thiefs, so why make ‘em?
August 23rd, 2006 at 3:16 am
hyper_tuner, you do have a point. However, building and marketing a limited edition car would mean it SHOULD have limited edition or exclusive parts. If not, why build one? And why buy one if it’s nothing special and has no difference to stock, everyday cars?
Whether or not the parts are limited edition or not, stealing is a crime. Being limited, actually, makes it easier to spot. The only question is, can the authorities actually do something about it?
August 24th, 2006 at 12:25 am

May 11th, 2007 at 1:24 am
close to a yr’s gap but anyway…when i got my r3, the spoiler’s is missing ready & replaced by an aftermarket sgti spoiler sprayed with quite a close incognito black…
wonderin can i still claim for insurance???
May 23rd, 2007 at 11:44 am
To claim insurance, you first need to file a police report within 24 hours of the incident. I think it’s too late dude! Did you ask the owner about it? What is your LEV number btw?
May 23rd, 2007 at 12:01 pm
