Lotus Engineering, in a joint R & D cooperation with Proton Holdings Bhd will showcase the ‘EVE Hybrid’ technology at the 77th Geneva International Motor Show. EVE which stands for Efficient, Viable, Environmental, is a hybrid solution for OEMs to easily retro-integrate into current platforms, hence lowering development costs.

Lotus will be demonstrating the technology with a specially-prepared Proton Gen.2 at the motorshow. The hybrid solution delivers up to 22% CO2 reduction and improvement in fuel economy by 28% (50.2mpg from 39.2mpg) over the standard 1.6-litre S4PH CamPro engine.
The EVE Hybrid showcases a trio of production-representative technologies:
- a ‘micro-hybrid’ start-stop system
- a full parallel hybrid drive
- Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT)
