LINKS Dyno Session Results (Partial)
If you’re new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Part of the early dyno crowd comprising the Putra Collective. Notice the happy camper in the red shirt at the back.
The much-awaited dyno session organised by the Putra Collective (thanks for the invite Ken!) saw some 15 cars on the rollers at LINKS, Sunway. The session was made up mostly of enthusiastic Putra owners, several Satria R3s, Satrias from SPOC (Satria Performance Owners Club), Kelisa, EK9 and a lone rollcage-clad EVO III sedan.
Each car were allowed 3 runs each and the entire session took up almost the entire day.
The original results sheet went missing and results are still being compiled as we speak. Partial results as follows (in order of highest to lowest figures):

More results will be posted once compilation is complete. And pics to come!

My dyno chart looks healthy and the figures are very close to what was obtained months ago on the Proton powertrain dyno. Despite not having sent to R3 for tuning for some time, air-fuel ratio is spot on and torque curve linear. The graph is very, very smooth thanks to the R3 Hotbits 4-1 header. May go for another tuning session on dyno at R3 after the R3TA and see how that goes.

hey whats ken running on? high cams?
btw, if i have my peak Hp and peak torque figures, which should i shift at? ie. peak torq: 7000 RPM. peak hp: 6500rpm. which do i folo to shift up? the torque rite?

Sv,
Not at peak torque. Technically, you get the best acceleration when you rev across the most area (or delta in math terms) of the HP curve. So this depends a lot on how wide your gear ratios are. For our cars, the shift point is roughly 500rpm after peak power.

Verne’s SR3 looks very healthy. Luke’s one needs more whacking from the owner to release the potential HP from within

thanx prozac… wah. so means i have to rev all the way to redline? cox my peak power arnd 7450rpm… is it safe?

Sv, no you do not have to. With our current gear ratios, the best would probably be around 6800-7000rpm. Revs would drop to around 5500rpm which is just about right when the real power starts.

icic… alrite then… so means, it usually depends on the gear ratios instead of peak torque or power… ka?
thanx dudes… hope to see yaal at track on sat..
btw, anyone selling 2nd hand harnesses? looking for black 4point clubman trs.

Actually it depends on all that. Your power band, your ratios.

I’ve a 3-point Schroth harness in good condition. PM me on the R3 Forum if you’re interested.
