Satria R3: R3VO Spec

What if, in a stroke of good luck, you were rewarded with RM100,000? One hundred Agong heads at your disposal, no questions asked? And let’s just say, you used that miracle wad of cash to build your ultimate, one-off sports hatch, built by the nasty boys at R3. To make things interesting – what if you were given a Satria GTi donor base car worth RM50,000 and left with another 50,000 big ones for modifications to your spec, what would you do? Got your attention yet?

Imagine. Your very own Satria R3. R3VO Spec, to be exact. Specifications outlined by you. Built by R3. Ponder on that thought for a sec.

Would you build one which is pure luxury – leather seats, airbag steering, alcantara trim, fat 17″ wheels and full ICE? Or would you rather an absolutely brutal bare-bones version, rivalling the SSO Satria? Or perhaps somewhere in between a luxury yet performance-based hatch ala Golf GTi?

I am confident this would spark an eclectic mix of views, opinions and ideas; limited only by one’s imagination and budget.

Let’s see… if I could build my very own Satria R3 R3vo spec, I would… *thought bubble*

  1. fully rebuilt engine with variable cam timing and some variable valve timing!!! >:D all that a nice 4 speaker stereo some additional foam injection to further stiffen up the chasis and just for shits and giggles and a small little (probably wouldnt work) fan in the airbox just cos i want one! :P

so whats r3vo stand for? or did you mean r3 + evo? >:D

  2. Hey jonn,

VVT doesn’t necessarily add power, merely more efficiency, thus better fuel comsumption.

And foam injection does not make much of a difference to chassis rigidity and strength. It does however, help with sound dampening.

    Fan in the airbox? HAAHHA…wtf…

r3VO is a term I coined, just for fukcs. It means a evolved version of the SR3 :)

  3. *sigh* u guys…
well.. these kinda things never happens. I mean getting Rm100k out of nowhere? wished that could happen. even a R3 is really out of reach for me. RM77k on the road, that’s so expensive. wished I could have my own car. haha. well.. no use sighing huh. just go to faculty by bus, walk to old town and back, and take the KTM to mid valley. haha.. that’s life..

  4. Amin, well..can also! It’s like an EVO version basically. A mad-as-fukc, although this isn’t as mad as it could be.

    reis,

don’t we all wish RM100K would drop from the sky eh? well, that time will come, i’m sure, when you will be driving your own ride.

    cheers!

  5. arent there two types of foamy stuff? race and comfort?

vvt… well still i want it hehe..

the fan in the intake box … errr … i havent been resting well :P

my right front sus is dying :( just thought i would add that insignificant thought

  6. and u actually ride with tengku djan’s elise? awesome man. if i were u, i’d bring a handy cam and record everything.. the way he shifts, how he turns the steering wheel.. heel and toe, handles weight transfers, how he brakes.. bla bla… damn. ur blog is so fun to read. ahaks;p

  7. hey reis,

I coined the term ‘toe-and-toe’ becoz that’s how some people do it, djan included. Instead of the real heel-and-toe with your foot sideways, you foot basically steps on both, modulating the angle between brake pedal and throttle.

djan is a superb driver. sit with him if you get a chance. Definitely an experience to savour.

He is what I like to call “Being one with the car”. Brilliant man.And when he goes sideways and smiles at you, heheh, that’s when the real fun starts!

  8. cant afford the r3 dampers and springs besides insurance shoulda replaced my control arm for my right front getting that done tomorrow hehe … gonna get this weird clicking sound removed from my car as well >:(

  9. hehe yeah it was. got it all fixed on the weekend except the ticking thing in the engine … that wont be bothering me too much i think. so long as its not a bomb or something >:). they just forgot to tighten up the suspension arm i think. came back good as new :D . getting my exhaust and cat done this weekend cant wait to throw money away! >:D
